Belle Starr

Belle Starr was born in 1848 and would later become one of the most notorious outlaws in the American West, earning herself the nickname, "The Bandit Queen." A convicted horse thief, Belle was no stranger to the Deputy U.S. Marshalls or the federal court of Judge Isaac C. Parker who, luckily for her, had a real problem with hanging women. She was a known friend to the James-Younger gang and other outlaws who evaded justice in Indian Territory (modern day Oklahoma) and her daughter, Pearl Starr, owned one of the seven bordellos that lined Fort Smith, Arkansas' red light district in the late 1800's through the early 1900's. After her short marriage to Sam Starr, she would prove herself to be somewhat of a Black Widow, as her mates tended to meet their demise at the short end of pistol's barrel
